Mary Leigh McDaniel, CPA/PFS
Mary Leigh McDaniel joined UMMC in 1998 as Manager in the Middleburg office. In January 2001, she was admitted as Partner.
Mary Leigh has more than 30 years of experience in all areas of public accounting including tax, financial and estate planning, and business consulting. She graduated from James Madison University (Magna Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance. In 1998 she earned the designation of Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
Mary Leigh is a member of the AICPA and the Virginia Society of CPAs where she has served on the Health Care and Employee Benefits Committees.
She is very active in the community and has served as an officer and board member of various civic and non-profit organizations. She most recently served on the PATH Foundation Board and the board of directors of Middleburg Financial Corporation and Access National Bank and has served as Chairman of the Fauquier County Chamber of Commerce, on the board of the Fauquier Health System as secretary/treasurer, on the LifePoint Joint Venture board with Fauquier Health System and on the board of The Land Trust of Virginia. Mary Leigh was appointed by Governor Kaine to the Vint Hill Economic Development Authority, named “Business Person of the Year” in 2009 by the Chamber of Commerce and has been selected as a Super CPA by Virginia Business Magazine.
Mary Leigh was elected to a four-year term on the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors representing the Marshall District, effective January 1, 2016, and was re-elected to an additional term effective January 1, 2020. She has served as both chair and vice chair of the board.
