David G. Updegrove, CPA
David G. Updegrove has more than 30 years of public accounting experience and specializes in the fields of personal and business income tax and estate tax planning and administration, as well as litigation support and business valuation services. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from Randolph-Macon College and completed his graduate studies in Accounting at Southern Oregon State College.
Dave is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Virginia Society of CPAs. He serves as an elder at Purcellville Baptist Church, as well as on a number of boards of civic organizations, including Keystone Christian Ministry. He also sings with the 4tified Southern Gospel Quartet, the Dominion 4 Barbershop Quartet, and the Valley Trouveres Quartet.
Mary Leigh McDaniel, CPA/PFS
Mary Leigh McDaniel joined UMMC in 1998 as Manager in the Middleburg office. In January 2001, she was admitted as Partner.
Mary Leigh has more than 30 years of experience in all areas of public accounting including tax, financial and estate planning, and business consulting. She graduated from James Madison University (Magna Cum Laude) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance. In 1998 she earned the designation of Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) from the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA).
Mary Leigh is a member of the AICPA and the Virginia Society of CPAs where she has served on the Health Care and Employee Benefits Committees.
She is very active in the community and has served as an officer and board member of various civic and non-profit organizations. She currently serves on the PATH Foundation Board and is a member of the board of directors of Middleburg Financial Corporation and Access National Bank. She has served as Chairman of the Fauquier County Chamber of Commerce, on the board of the Fauquier Health System as secretary/treasurer, on the LifePoint Joint Venture board with Fauquier Health System and on the board of The Land Trust of Virginia. Mary Leigh was appointed by Governor Kaine to the Vint Hill Economic Development Authority, named “Business Person of the Year” in 2009 by the Chamber of Commerce and has been selected as a Super CPA by Virginia Business Magazine.
Mary Leigh was elected to a four-year term on the Fauquier County Board of Supervisors representing the Marshall District, effective January 1, 2016.
Donna M. McMullen, CPA
Donna McMullen, CPA, joined the firm in 2001 and became a partner in 2013.
Based in the Leesburg office, Donna is an integral part of the UMMC team. She has more than 17 years of experience in all areas of public accounting including personal, business, estates and trusts, tax planning and audits. Also, she is the firm’s Assurance Partner.
Donna graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration–Accounting. She is a member of the Virginia Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Catoctin Estate Planning Council. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors of the Loudoun Credit Union.
Lisa M. Chiccehitto, CPA
Lisa Chiccehitto, CPA joined UMMC in 2008. A graduate of the University of Maryland, she began her career at Deloitte in Washington, DC, where she provided audit and tax services to high net worth individuals and to public and private businesses in a variety of industries. Later, while raising her children, she worked seasonally and part-time for a financial services firm that specializes in tax and investment planning for non-U.S. persons and entities engaged in business in the U.S. and U.S. citizens living outside the U.S. In 2008 when she re-entered the workforce full time, she chose to continue her career in the community where she lives.
Based in the Warrenton office, Lisa provides tax consulting for individuals, businesses, estates, and trusts. Additionally, she provides family office services and client support services to businesses. Client support services include a variety of services needed by clients who do not have a controller or CFO on staff, but desire the value provided by those types of employees/advisors. Services are provided on an as-needed basis, and are regular or temporary, depending on the needs and resources of the client.
Lisa is a member of the American Institute of CPAs, the Virginia Society of CPAs, and the local Chambers of Commerce. She serves on the Boards for Leadership Fauquier and the Rotary Club of Warrenton, and is a parishioner of St. John’s Catholic Church. She has been married for more than 30 years, has four children, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
