The Partners of Updegrove, McDaniel, McMullen and Chiccehitto, PLC, are pleased to announce that Sarah K. Godfrey, CPA, and Mark S. Burgess, CPA, have become Partners with the Firm, effective January 1, 2025.
Sarah, a dedicated member of our Warrenton office since 2012, graduated George Mason University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. She has been an integral part of our team serving UMMC clients in tax preparation, tax planning and consulting, as well as outsourced CFO services. Known for her dedication to training our team and exceptional client service, Sarah’s friendly approach has endeared her to clients and colleagues alike. She is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Virginia Society of CPAs (VSCPA), and currently serves as Treasurer on the Board of the Foothills Housing Corporation.
Mark is returning to UMMC after having his own public accounting practice. He graduated with honors from James Madison University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Throughout his career, Mark has assisted clients with a diverse array of services including tax preparation, tax planning and consulting, compliance, and part-time CFO and controller duties for businesses and nonprofit organizations. He is a member of the Virginia Society of CPAs and a Not-For-Profit Section Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
